The Lubbock County Detention Center maintains the safety and well-being of those committed to the facility and awaiting trial, discharged from a sentence, or transferred to another agency. There are 1512 beds in the detention centers, and the Center is staffed with 362 Lubbock County employees. Staff also include medical, kitchen, and commissary personnel. Three shifts in the detention facility are staff with four training Corporals, 4 Sergeants, and 2 Lieutenants. The
Command staff comprises four captains, an Assistant Chief, and a Chief of the Detention Division.
