Jail Roster

The Lubbock County Detention Center maintains the safety and well-being of those committed to the facility and awaiting trial, discharged from a sentence, or transferred to another agency. There are 1512 beds in the detention centers, and the Center is staffed with 362 Lubbock County employees. Staff also include medical, kitchen, and commissary personnel. Three shifts in the detention facility are staff with four training Corporals, 4 Sergeants, and 2 Lieutenants. The
Command staff comprises four captains, an Assistant Chief, and a Chief of the Detention Division.

The Sheriff of Lubbock County is Kelly Rowe, who is a member of the Texas Jail Association.
When searching for an inmate in Lubbock County and wanting to schedule a visit to the jail or remotely by video, you must open a SmartJailMail.com account. Once you have opened your account, you can search for the inmate you want to visit. The facility and the inmate must approve you for visitation rights. Inmates can have one on-site visit daily; each visit is 20 minutes. Visits need to be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Remote visits do have a fee.
Visitation is limited to the rules of the POD, and you need to check with the POD officer for exact times.

Sunday – Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. You can use the facility to visit your inmate. Use the visitation lobby kiosk. At home, go to www.smartinmate.com for your visit.
